Sarah Khan

My name is Sarah Khan and I am a Junior at El Cerrito High School. I’m passionate about making the changes I want to see in this world, especially when it comes to the health field. In my free time, I run student organizations focused on mental health and activism, which includes organizing protests, highlighting systemic issues in POC communities, and ultimately making sure that I’m doing the work I hope to observe others do as well. On the side, I also enjoy going on long runs, reading, and drawing!

Anika Gupta

Anika is a senior motivated towards pursuing a career in biotechnological research, specifically in genetic editing technologies. There are countless treatments and medications in the healthcare industry that have so many adverse side effects that may harm already suffering patients, and Anika hopes that by researching genetics, it will become easier to target the underlying causes of diseases and produce safer drugs and treatments. To reach this goal, Anika is currently involved with Teens in Health and similar organizations devoted to education and outreach in healthcare. But when she isn’t doing this, she enjoys singing, playing the piano, and playing with her cat.

Ahoy! I am a senior at Silver Creek High School. When I'm not working, you can find me writing or playing tennis. Currently, I am primarily interested in the medical field, but I also have a slight affinity for physics. Over quarantine, I've developed a hobby for freeline skating and card throwing :) I'm excited to write for TeensInHealth because it combines my two main interests: Medicine and Writing.

Aayush is a high school student aspiring to be a physician, planning to specialize in ophthalmology, emergency medicine, or invasive cardiology. He joined Teens in Health to explore various medical/science topics and share them with fellow high school students. During his high school career, he has contributed significantly to the school’s Pre-Medical Club, volunteered at his local hospital in the midst of COVID-19, and started a charity organization, Music for Medicine, with the goal to raise funds for medical nonprofits by singing song covers for his donors. Aayush’s other interests include performing onstage with his school’s theatre department and helping out fellow calculus students.
