How does the Flu virus its the host cell?

  1. The flu virus in the air enters the human body through the nose/mouth.

  2. The pathogenic agent enters the lungs and infects the lung cells.

  3. The virus gets stuck to glycans, the exterior part of the host cell.

  4. The virus enters the cell through endocytosis.

  5. Viral RNA is released and then copied. These new copies make proteins for the new viral cells.

  6. The host cell does not die, and is instead able to make more copies of the flu virus.
